COVID-19 Contingency Plan for Training

Wound Care Education Partners is implementing a "COVID-19 Contingency Plan" for moving forward with hyperbaric training. Wound Care Education Partners has received UHMS approval to hold this course via live stream webinar format.

Wound care certification course for physicians or nurses. Hybrid online and livestream webclass training. Earn continuing education hours CME/CEU.

HOW TO ATTEND

  • Course faculty will teach the course via live stream webinar. 
  • Course attendees may attend the livestream course days from wherever they are located (ie, home or office) are as long as you have:
    • a computer with internet
    • a camera on your computer so we can see you (required for attendance verification purposes)
    • speakers and a microphone on your computer for listening to the lectures and asking your questions (or an available phone line, a dial in option is available for the audio)
  • We will offer a "dry run" on Thursday, May 7 at 10am EDT livestream so you can test your computer connection prior to the start of the course.
  • For the hands-on debridement practicum: A debridement kit and student materials will be shipped to you. If possible, we ask you to obtain the following items that will be use during the hands-on debridement practicum of this course.
    • Pig Foot (or piece of meat, not hot dog)
    • 1 Orange (or piece of fruit)

If you wish to attend a regular face to face course, we invite you do so later this year (click here to see courses calendar). However, with this unique training opportunity approved by the UHMS we are continuing to moving forward as scheduled, as much as possible. 

Wound Care Training for Nurses and Physicians

If you’re a physician, CNA, RN, LPN, or APRN looking for a wound care certification or refresher training – this program is for you.

This course is a hybrid of online learning + 1-day livestream webclass to maximize learning and minimize travel expenses.

(This course is also a great refresher for those seeking wound care continuing education (CMEs/CEUs). 

Important Note: If you are planning to sit for a wound certification exam please check with your certifying agency of choice prior to taking this or any course, to be sure that you meet their requirements to sit for a certification exam. Each certifying agency has their own criteria, and sometimes those criteria change without notice.

LIVESTREAM WEBCLASS DAY SCHEDULE

Debridement Module and Hands-On Practicum

The livestream webclass includes a debridement practicum that includes lecture and hands-on practicum, "Debridement: Learn How, When, and Why."

  • In the debridement practicum you will learn:
  • Methods of debridement
  • When a wound may need debridement
  • Safety concerns related to debridement

The hands-on practicum that follows the lecture will allow you to gain hands-on practice with debridement tools and techniques.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

The primary purpose of this course is to address the practice gaps and to educate in all disciplines on core anatomy, wound healing physiology, wound etiology and interventions. 

The second purpose of the program is to teach the major sanctioned and cutting edge techniques and alternatives in advanced skin and wound care management principles. 

The third purpose is to provide a course designed to prepare the learner for the major wound care certification exams in the market place today.
